Pharmacies in Iowa are encouraged to continue their participation in the Iowa Community Pharmacy Naloxone Program. The current preferred product is one of the OTC (brand or generic) formulations. Prescription naloxone products are still eligible under the program, however at a reduced dispensing fee. The Dispensing Fee for Brand RX Narcan® or Kloxxado® is now $10.00, while the Dispensing Fee for Generic Rx naloxone is $12.00. The Dispensing Fee for both Brand and Generic OTC naloxone remains at $20.00.

Pharmacies may submit electronic claims to Rx BIN: 019538/ Rx PCN: MD1 with group number SIA0001.

Any random number may be used for a patient ID (e.g., patient’s DOB in reverse, date of service, etc.).
